Tech with a human Heart
Engaging people in Humanizing Technology through Responsible AI, Cyber Ethics, and Digital Innovation in the Age of AI
Tech with a human Heart ❤️: Engaging people in Humanizing Technology through Responsible AI, Cyber Ethics, and Digital Innovation in the Age of AI is an ongoing educational initiative led by Dr. Tahani Al-Khatib from the Computer Information Department at the University of Jordan.
This initiative builds upon her doctoral dissertation titled "Issues in Artificial Intelligence and ML Algorithms Compared with Human Intelligence: A Philosophical and Ethical Approach." The dissertation research explored the theoretical foundations of Artificial Intelligence, the limitations of AI and machine learning algorithms, the foundations of Responsible AI, the future trajectory of AI, and the intricate relationship between human and artificial intelligence.
Tech with a human heart ❤️ transforms theoretical AI ethics into practical learning experiences where students in Jordan and the Arab world are encouraged to talk and present their ideas and activities, and also to create AI-powered multimedia, games, and digital content while critically examining the ethical implications of these technologies. Students from diverse academic backgrounds develop both technical competence and ethical awareness, learning together to innovate responsibly and human creativity through AI and technology in our digital world. Through this initiative, these young men and women are expected to become thoughtful digital citizens, proud of their cultural heritage and capable of balancing technological advancement with human values and creative expression.
Tech with a human Heart ❤️ is built on four main pillars that reflect the values I hold close as a teacher, skills I love to see in my students and work hard to nurture and polish every day:
🎤 Present & Innovate where students take the lead in sharing ideas, giving talks, and exploring creative interdisciplinary innovations.
🎨 Create & Share where they express themselves through meaningful digital content, and projects.
🎮 Play & Learn where learning becomes joyful and hands-on through developing interactive games, and creating content by Gen AI tools.
✍️ Write & Publish where students reflect, write, and contribute thoughtful pieces that connect technology with ethics and future.
Beyond the Classroom 🌍💡 is the community outreach arm of Tech with a Human Heart ❤️, bringing learning into the heart of Jordanian society. Through talks, workshops, and seminars, this initiative shares knowledge about AI, technology, and critical thinking in accessible, empowering ways. One key effort is the awareness series “Spot the Fallacy❗”, which promotes media literacy by exposing common logical fallacies. Rooted in a deep love for Jordan🌼, this outreach connects with people of all ages to spark curiosity, encourage dialogue, and inspire thoughtful engagement—for a future we build together, hand in hand and heart to heart. ❤️
As a university staff member working with youth, I care deeply about helping them build the skills that really matter, not just how to use technology, but how to think with it, question it, and create with it responsibly. I try to make space for learning that’s hands-on, ethical, and even a little fun. For me, it’s not just about teaching tech, it’s about keeping the human side alive in everything we do.
That’s what Tech with a human Heart❤️is all about, because AI techs, but human hearts beat!
As an extension of Tech with a human Heart ❤️ project, my approach to technology and education always begins with human. To me, being human-centered means asking not just what we can create with technology, but why we create it and who it truly benefits.
In my teaching, research, course development, and everyday work with students, I try to connect technical skills with empathy, ethics, rich Arab Hertiage, and real-world meaning. It’s not just about learning how to code or use tools, but about thinking critically, acting responsibly, and designing with care.
I believe education should feel personal, inclusive, and grounded in values and Heritage. By putting people first, I hope to create learning experiences that are not only relevant and engaging, but truly make a difference.
Beyond the Classroom 🌍💡
Beyond the Classroom🌍💡 is the community outreach arm of Tech with a Human Heart ❤️. It takes learning beyond academic walls and into the heart of society, reaching people of all ages, backgrounds, and sectors.
Through 💬Talks & Seminars, 🎙️Workshops & Media, and public talks in schools, universities, and community spaces, I share knowledge about AI and technology in ways that are accessible, empowering, and grounded in human values and Arab Culture. These sessions are offered as a contribution to the community, guided by a deep belief in the power of shared learning and social good.
Rooted in my deep love for Jordan🌼, this outreach focuses on empowering individuals and communities across the country, from students and educators to professionals and lifelong learners. Whether in bustling cities or rural towns, I aim to spark curiosity, build awareness, and open doors to meaningful engagement with the technologies shaping our world.
One of the key outreach efforts is the awareness series “Spot the Fallacy❗”, which aims to foster critical thinking and media literacy by unpacking common logical fallacies, especially those used in manipulative or harmful discourse on social media and in public life. This initiative helps people of all ages recognize and respond wisely to flawed arguments, promoting respectful and informed dialogue.
Beyond the Classroom is about connection, inclusion, and inspiring conversations in my country Jordan🌼.
For a future we build together, hand in hand, and heart to heart.❤️
My YouTube Channel ▶️
As part of my "Tech with a human Heart ♥️ project, I put many of my teaching materials on YouTube because I believe knowledge shouldn't be locked behind paywalls, and should be Open Access. I believe that education works best when it meets people where they are.
My YouTube channel is a space where anyone can explore all the subjects I teach, whether they're my students at JU or someone who simply wants to learn. Creating this flexible, welcoming community matters to me just as much as the content itself.
